Local government

The expertise of our people at Altius has been recognised for many years by successive Auditors-General. We have been appointed to audit the majority of the Councils in the Far North, Cape York and Torres Strait regions as well as many in the Gulf of Carpentaria and Western Queensland. We have a depth of knowledge of the local government sector matched by few other firms in our region. This allows us to provide many non-statutory audit services to local government via our assurance, advisory and consulting services.

Public sector

In the wider public sector Altius people have worked with other statutory bodies such as Government Owned Corporations in sectors as diverse as transport, water, retail and tourism. We understand the accountability and audit requirements from our contract audit appointments by successive Auditors-General. Not-for-profit sector

The not-for-profit sector has continued to experience considerable change in accountability requirements since the introduction of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (“ACNC”). The region Altius calls home has one of the highest Indigenous populations in Australia.
