peterPeter is recognised as a leader in the Australian accounting profession.  He has over 30 years of experience in a range of roles in the United Kingdom, Victoria and Queensland.

His career has spanned senior management positions in audit, assurance, corporate finance, corporate advisory, commercial, management consulting and marketing, working with a diversity of clients and businesses from multi-national corporations to privately owned companies; from indigenous local governments to government-owned corporations; and across public and private sectors.

Peter has been recognised as the leading public sector auditor in Queensland twice in his career and currently acts as auditor of many well-known public sector entities on behalf of the Auditor-General.

Peter is dedicated to quality in everything he does.  As a Registered Company Auditor this involves ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.  As a trusted advisor it means helping clients not only to meet their compliance obligations, but to do so in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

Many Altius clients have other reporting obligations, such as to funding bodies.  Peter recognises the importance of ensuring reporting timetables are met, ensuring longevity of funding from these vital sources.  Peter is dedicated to working with clients to achieve these outcomes, on time.

Peter’s connections within the Australian accounting profession ensure Altius is always at the forefront of identifying new developments that affect our clients.  He is a past State Chairman of the Queensland Council of the Chartered Accountants Australia + New Zealand.  Currently, he is a member of two advisory bodies of CAANZ – the Audit Advisory Committee and the Regional and Rural Advisory Committee.

This allows Altius privileged access to the leading edge of developments in the accounting profession.

For our clients it means we are always able to ensure the impacts of change are anticipated and the implications addressed thoroughly in advance.

Quality client relationships are of real importance to Peter.  He seeks not only to understand a client’s needs, but also the organisation’s business activities and its risks.  By building rapport with key people, it is no coincidence that many of Peter’s relationships with clients are long enduring and mutually beneficial.
